The Consequences of Voting for a Culture of Death

As a Christian, I believe that God does not punish us for our sins in this life.  It is the natural consequences of actions that are in opposition to a God (who wants only the best for us) that make it seem like we are being punished.

Supporting abortion is one such act.  When we vote for candidates and policies that support the destruction of innocent life, we are not only making a political decision but also a moral one.  We stand in opposition to a God who said– “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” John 10:10.  In voting for the Democratic Party’s pro-abortion stance, we also align ourselves with their broader views: gun confiscation, suppression of free speech, the weaponization of our courts, and control of the media.  These attitudes are the hallmarks of totalitarian governments throughout history.  As a test, enter this question into your favorite AI bot: “Do totalitarian governments use gun confiscation, free speech suppression, court weaponization, and media control to dominate populations? If so, provide examples.”

The ultimate consequences of such a vote go beyond the single abortion issue itself. It empowers the Democratic Party, whose intentions are clear: their goal is to limit our right to bear arms, restrict our freedom of speech, use the legal system as a weapon against those who disagree with them, and all while looking good in the media they control. A party that seeks to eliminate life at its most vulnerable stage cannot be trusted to protect the other rights that are fundamental to our liberty.

The most recent economic proposal from Democrats is price controls for food. I was alive during the price controls on gasoline in the 1970s. I remember waiting in the gas line for two to three hours. Think about waiting that long for bread or meat. These are real-world results of misguided economic policy; ask any migrant from a socialist country.

As citizens, we must take seriously the weight of our vote. This is not merely a political decision but a moral one. Voting for leaders who support abortion is not just a vote against life — it is a vote against the freedoms God has given us. In the end, if we insist on rejecting His truth, God will say to us, “If death is what you wish, then death you shall have — your will be done.” As C.S. Lewis warned, those who choose the path of destruction will be granted it.
